As we know everyone's social media feed is individually personalized to ones taste (All thanks to those lovely cookies we reluctantly accept). Mine is totally different from yours, your best friend’s, your sibling’s, and even your mom’s! You probably think mine is like — super cool and you’re totally right. It’s got a little bit of everything: must-see NYC spots, matcha tutorials, bullet journal ideas, “Day in my life” videos, storytimes, funny videos, edits, and of course, a lot of fashion inspo, etc.

Lately, though, I haven’t been seeing much fashion content on my feed, so finding outfit inspiration has been a challenge. But this week, I gave my doom-scrolling a mission: not just to melt my brain, but to uncover a killer fashion story, too. Mission accomplished!

It took me a while to round up these TikToks, but I finally did it! Three of my recent faves from my FYP were an OOTD (Outfit of the Day), some fall outfit inspo, and a prediction for fall shoe trends.

I’m always here for a good OOTD when it pops up on my feed. Not only does it give me fresh ideas, but it also gets me thinking about current trends and has me daydreaming about clothes I wish I had. This one in particular was so cute! The person styled an apple graphic tee with a long denim skirt and black ballet flats with bows and a little heel. They paired it with a green leather tote and a brown belt with a silver buckle, and even wore their hair up with face-framing pieces out.

Why do I love a simple OOTD? Because it's so relatable! It makes me think, "Wow, this person really loves their fit" blah blah blah. Plus, they even linked the shirt in the caption—they know the people will love it. Posts like this always draw me in and make me feel like, yeah, I could totally rock that look too. Or at least something similar.

This next post is a total lifesaver for those days when I’m stuck in an outfit rut: fall fashion inspo! I love TikToks like this because it’s basically a "flip book" of outfits—so easy to swipe through and get ideas I can recreate from my own closet when my brain is running on empty. Plus, they used "Duvet" by Bôa as the background track, which is such a perfect fall vibe.

The outfits I’m featuring here are absolutely adorable! They range from a cute miniskirt look to stylish capris and an asymmetrical midi skirt.

The TikTok features 13 slides with 3 outfits each, so that’s a whole 39 outfits to get inspired by. Absolute perfection!

The last TikTok I want to highlight is another "flipbook"-style, super vibey post. The title immediately caught my eye: "Shoe Trend Predictions for Fall and Winter." Naturally, I’m thinking, What shoes do I need to add to my already massive collection? And sure enough, there were some adorable trends for the upcoming season!

As I swiped through, I saw lace-up boots with a bunch of cute options, heels paired with legwarmers, studded shoes, olive green-colored footwear, suede boots, and finally, leather sneakers. That’s six shoe trends for Fall/Winter 2024! The best part? Each trend was beautifully displayed on Vogue-style stationery paper, which added such a chic touch. I love a good trend prediction!

And that’s a wrap! I just wanted to share what popped up on my feed this week. If you’re looking for some fall inspo, here are the links to the TikToks I mentioned—happy scrolling!

Tiktok #1- OOTD

I have to start by saying how much I wish I could have worked this New York Fashion Week—just like the last one. But family commitments kept me busy, so I wasn’t able to experience the magic firsthand from September 6 to 13, 2024. Even though I longed to be with my nieces, I stayed updated on this year's shows.

One of my all-time favorite designers is Sandy Liang. If that name doesn't sound familiar to you, I recommend getting out from under that rock and changing that. Last school year, after doing a research project on her, I discovered so much about her life that I felt a personal connection. Plus, her designs are stunning! I love the girlcore, whimsical, playfulness she brings to each and every one of her pieces, and the overall cool girl stylish vibe it has. A common trend i noticed among her show are the sandal kitten heels. I will love to see more people wearing these in S/S 25. Especially since i just finished watching "Sex and the City" for the first time, and the amount of kitten heels and overall shoes Carrie Bradshaw owns/wore has me wanting to see more of this cutesie shoe.

I've recently become obsessed with Hillary Taymour, the designer of Collina Strada, particularly for her focus on sustainability. I had the chance to see her speak at an FIT panel on the topic, and it was incredibly informative on sustainability in the fashion industry. This past summer, she also collaborated with Baggu, which I've been OBSESSED with. Her designs are playful, quirky, and bold, with a vibe that's both contrasting and similar to Sandy Liang's girlish, whimsical style. Something I noticed in the Collina Strada S/S 25 show was the amount of trimmings! Whether that be the ruffles, lace, flowers, and her iconic patterns (not a trimming). Hillary’s use of upcycling in her collections is something to commend, as well as bring hope for the sustainability of the fashion industry.

The Spring/Summer 2025 collections from both Sandy and Hillary have me fascinated, excited, and eager to see what they’ll do next! And for where sustainability and ethics thrives among luxury fashion. As consumer demand for transparency about sustainability practices increases, I see sustainability becoming the foundation!!

Okay okay, enough fangirling for me- but here’s a pinterest board that highlights some of my favorite looks from their shows and the vibes that they share.

Hopefully, one day I’ll get the chance to attend one of their shows—or even better, work with them!

I’ve been moved in for a whole month now, and I don't know exactly how I feel about it. Especially since I'm only in my third week of classes. It's freaky that now on top of all my RA work I have to be a student. Like I knew that, but c'mon. Homework? I'm already doing my best to be on top of everything. I'm sure my fellow classmates here at FIT understand, unless you're an art student... then you definitely have more work than me and I salute you.

I've heavily enjoyed my first month in my single dorm. Every day has been an adjustment—commuting to campus, cooking my own meals, living alone, having my own space, and keeping it all clean. Not to brag about my room, but...

Anyway, here I am, sitting on my plush carpet, hunched over my laptop, contemplating time. I’ve been here a whole month already! People say, "Time flies when you're having fun," and some believe it slows down when you're experiencing new things, but I feel like it just keeps speeding up—and that's spooky.

Today, I grabbed a matcha from 21st and 5th (I’m a matcha girl now!) and walked all the way back to my dorm on 31st. I took my time, soaking in the neighborhoods and watching people go about their day. My feet were killing me, but it was totally worth it. Before I knew it, I was back at my dorm, and my matcha was gone. I had to do homework beverage-less.

This is to say take your time, slow down. (I think)

And enjoy your day.
